Honoring Our Veterans
November 11, 2018, 2:00 pm
Please join the Wells Foundation and the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Orchestra – with special guest piano soloist Elise Bombaro – at our 7th annual Veteran’s Day concert to raise money for efforts to help end homelessness among veterans in the Twin Cities.
In past years the Foundation and Orchestra raised over $15,000 for veteran programs targeted at homelessness. The concert will include:
- Gustav Holst ~ “Mars-the Bringer of War” from The Planets
- Edvard Grieg ~ Piano Concerto in A Minor
- John Williams ~ “Hymn to the Fallen” from Saving Private Ryan
- Katharine Lee Bates & Samuel A. Ward ~ America the Beautiful
Elise Bombaro has been performing piano since she was in grade school. She continued her piano studies at the Julliard School and the Curtis Institute. She majored in violin performance at Temple University. Elise earned her BA in piano performance at the University of Minnesota and performs with two local orchestras – the Health Science Orchestra of the University of MN and the Dakota Valley Symphony where she usually plays first violin.
The concert is free. A donation will be collected at the concert. Individuals and corporations can also contribute in advance, and names of a veteran of their choice will be listed in the program. Differing levels of donations and recognition are available. All donations will be used by Wells Foundation to support programs for homeless veterans in the Twin Cities.
