Information we collect

Grant applicants

The personal information that website visitors will be asked to provide, and the reasons for this, are associated with the annual grant application process. As part of that process we will collect the following data from individuals applying for grants on behalf of their respective organizations:

  • Contact name
  • E-mail
  • Office/facility address
  • Phone
  • Cover letter
  • Minnesota Common Grant form
  • Other files support the grant request
  • Amount of requested grant
  • Additional comment or message
  • Online donations

Online donations

Individuals may also elect to make online contributions to Wells as described on the Donate Online page. Basic credit card information is collected on the Wells page but is not stored on the Wells database. Storage of that data is managed through a 3rd-part application (PayPal®) whose own privacy policies are are described here. The data fields collected on that page are:

  • Amount of donation
  • E-mail address
  • Currency code
  • Name
  • Address
  • Credit card identification

“Contact us” links

The website contains links that allow visitors to contact the foundation if they have any questions (see bottom of this page). These links trigger the visitor’s email application to open. No content entered in the email application is stored on the website or its database.

How we use this information

Grant applicants

We use the information to make decisions around whether an applicant organization will meet our current funding criteria.

Wells Memorial Foundation of Minneapolis follows a standard procedure of using website log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and are a part of each hosting service’s analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
